End of Waaris!!!!!
The end of Waaris!
As we know Waaris ended yesterday, but it will not be forgotten.
First and foremost, we would like to thank each and every member for participating in this forum. I know many of you didn’t reply, but we know you were here to view pictures, videos, read updates or what ever the reason may have been, we hope u continually visit. Since the show is still on in other parts of the world our forum will remain open. We will continue posting pictures from US episodes or any other news on any Waaris star cast!
Ending of Waaris, my say so!
As always, good things come to an end, be it a show, relationship or any other day to day routine. Yes, the show ended abrubtly, but I still ask why. I feel the TRP excuse is just a mere excuse, I still don’t believe it. According to the channel, they wanted to experiment something different. Did they convey this to the production house, did they convey this to the star cast, If they did would anyone sign a show knowing that it was experimental and it would end after 4 months. Hmmmm, I’m still thinking!
Anyways, my take on the show. Yes, it was different from what we’re used to seeing on TV, but none the less it was a great show. It was a different formula all together, a bit of all the mix in one show. When I broke this news to a family member, he said to me, they just can’t do this, this is a great show. Infact, his comment was its like a James Bond thriller, you really can’t predict what will happen next. I conveyed to him, this is indian television for u. Unless it’s a chick flick, it doesn’t click, perfect formula for a show to stay on air, a gal has to fall in love, get pregnant, marry someone else and have a miscarriage, divorce and then go back to her old lover and not to mention getting married several times over course of time. This is what the indian audience likes and this is what they watch. Haven’t we seen enough of this on television???? What I fail to understand is why people like this formula so much!!! Is this normal way of living???? Now, if this generates TRP’s then I leave it to you to ponder!
I know many of you will not agree with what I have said, but this is my opinion and I stand by it. On that note I will end my comments, wishing all the best to Waaris star cast and crew for all their future endeavors.

thanks....really sad to see it end but on my side i thought iqbal got a raw deal, there was no scope for his acting skills i feel he is a very versetile actor and deserves better roles...hopefully we will see him again in a role that does justice to his talent

Heya Di...Nice post.... 
I agree...its sad waaris had to end...its sad that it wasnt really the show but also because of some politics as articles had mentioned... 
Waaris was a good show with awesome potential...I agree its a different fare from what we see on tv...It had amazing actors...who gave top notch performances week after week...we sympathized with shankar..we hated his dad...we felt for gayatri... 
I dont really agree that indian audiences only like the saas bahu sagas...it is true to an extent but not entirely...
I think the mind set is changing slowly...it is true that a show like kyun ki gets more trps than waaris...
but to be able to sustain a show like waaris in between all the trp game and the saas bahu shows and the female oriented shows...was a challenge..
a challenge which needed the right direction and mind set to keep a show like waaris interesting to all the audiences..i think its timing was also a draw back...
i think in the indian television we dont have a shortage of ideas or scripts...its just the direction thats missing..
a show which starts out with amazing promise gets caught up in the trp game and has to shut shop...
or if tries to keep up with the trps it changes direction and becomes a saas bahu saga..
its hard to try to be different...but i guess actors like iqbal khan still try...and succeed..but then the show ends like waaris did..which is a pity...
its hard to put the blame on one aspect...trps, ideas, prodcution houses, creatives, actors...its a cycle..which has to stop some where to show us more creative tv...

Rashi poo, it ended yaar, anyway its ok, you have to look at it this way, when one door closes another one opens up! Never dwell on the past, present has alot more to offer! As humans we tend to forget that!

Yeah it is sad to see it end, but I think everyone associated with this show got a raw deal from the channel, production house, cast and crew. |
