Star Plus’ Sangam which is now focusing on the love track of Ganga-Saagar (Jennifer Winget and Chaitanya Choudhury) will now see the entry of few new characters to add more spice and variety!!

Our well-placed source informs us, “This track will basically focus on Kanchan Bua and her evil plans to kick Ganga out of the house. Bua calls her son Puttan and her daughter-in-law Alka to stay with her so that her son can help her out in her plan. Puttan will have a comic element to his negative shade and will be dressed like a total UP guy, while his wife Alka is a simple, typical housewife. Later it so happens that Alka shares most of her problems with Ganga and they get very close”.

To know more on the actors playing these roles, we approached another source who says, “It will be newcomers Jignesh Joshi and Shambavi who will take the story ahead!!”. We called both the actors for a confirmation, but both remained tight-lipped.

If the buzz is to be believed, the introduction of these new characters is mainly done to give a breathing space to the lead actors of the serial, Chaitanya Choudhury and Jennifer Winget, as both are part of Star One’s reality show Zara Nach Ke Dikha..
