Re: training and development
Training and Development are often taken for activities one wished s/he had an option over. At best, skills training are taken seriously by employees. Trainers often say that organisations do not lay enough emphasis on the subject and the business often labels training 'ineffective.' I have had to grapple with these and many other complex issues in my career in training.
Whenever one shoulders this function, one must understand the organisation first. Practices, presentations and styles that got success in some place may now be dated or inappropriate.
