9X the Hindi mega General Entertainment Channel is all set to take its prime time offerings to greater heights with the launch of Dahhej, its latest emotional rollercoaster offering. Dahhej depicts the story of courageous Kalyaani, the apple of her father’s eye, who sacrifices her aspirations for her family’s happiness. This engrossing family drama will air at 8.30 pm Mondays to Thursdays on 9X.The beautiful Aneesha Kapoor plays the lead role of Kalyaani, whose destiny is intertwined with that of her elder sister, Krutika. Both sisters are very different from each other. While Kalyaani believes in hard work and determination, Krutika is very laid back. Kalyaani is an ideal daughter; she is ready to sacrifice her own happiness for the sake of her loved ones. Kalyaani’s world changes when she is reduced to becoming part of her elder sister’s dowry.
Set against the backdrop of vibrant and colorful Gujarat, Dahhej, produced by B.A.G Films, is a heart-warming story that offers several emotions such as love, hate, passion and celebration. Kirit Parikh
A man of dignity and honour, Kirit is a doctor by profession. He is aware about the fact that due to his research and quest of humanitarian goals, he has neglected his daughters. An honest and humble person, Kirit cannot tolerate corruption and malpractices in any organisation. Kirit Parikh has two daughters – Krutika and Kaiyaani.
Krutika Parikh
Krutika is the elder daughter of Kirit Parikh. She is a girl who gets carried away by external grandiose and spectacle. Being very laidback in nature, she has no ambition to achieve anything in life through sheer hard work and perseverance but wants these things to fall into her lap someday. Unlike her younger sibling, Krutika has no ambition to achieve anything in life through hard work and dedication. She dreams of luxuries, comforts and lavish lifestyles. Krutika likes to get pampered and is pretty selfish.
Kalyaani Parikh
An effervescent Kalyaani is a 22 year old innocent sweet girl. Being the youngest in the family Kalyaani is very lively and mischievous but at the same time very sensible and positive. Kalyaani is part of young group who creates awareness about the issues evils in the world. Kalyaani is an ideal daughter; she is ready to sacrifice her own happiness for the sake of her loved ones.

Dadima Jasuben
Madhukar Mehta’s mother, dadima is the eldest member of the Mehta family. After having lived a normal life with its usual share of troubles and happiness, she is now a relaxed old woman who doesn’t have many regrets. She is all smiles most of the time. She often remembers good old days. She is a keen observer and can see when things are not as they should be. But it is not often she can’t take a stand against her bahu - Maya Mehta and is forced to keep quiet. Dadima misses Gujarat.
Madhukar Mehta
A very successful businessman who is not averse to conniving with others to get into shady
business deals if they can push up the bottom lines of his business. Madhukar is completely influenced by his wife Maya Mehta who is often the mastermind behind his business strategies as well as domestic politics. Madhukar is not a bad man at the core but his goodness is corrupted by his wife’s cunningness and manipulations.
Maya Mehta
Maya is a very shrewd business woman. A vengeful Maya nourishes ill feelings over long periods. A control freak Maya believes in manipulating lives and controlling them. Maya has 3 sons and 1 daughter and is well respected in the community.
Soham Mehta
Madhukar’s and Maya’s youngest son, Soham is an absolute charmer and also a big prankster. Soham is very close to his mom Maya Mehta. He is a very caring person by nature and he respects women’s dignity. A family man Soham is ever ready to sacrifice his happiness for the sake of his loved ones.
