Dad Javed rates Farhan’s vocal talent!

Javed Akhtar is extremely happy these days. Not only because he’d be judging the fourth season of Indian Idol but also because his son Farhan has become the new heartthrob and singing sensation overnight, all thanks to the success of Rock On!

Now that Javed Akhtar is all set to don the hat of a judge to choose the next Indian Idol, we thought of asking him to rate his son as far as his singing talent is concerned!

“A Supreme, Sessions, High court judge is never asked to carry out the trial of his relative, likewise I wont be able to give you the perfect rating of my son as a singer but Anu Malek can help you do so”, said Javed Akhtar jokingly when we asked him the question.

Anu Malek added, “Trust me when I heard that Farhan is all set to sing, I was surprised and was proud of his bold attempt. It takes guts to sing a song, when you have only been a director before... not even an actor! When I heard him in Rock On render those Rock numbers, I told him I’ll sign him to sing a serious rock song for me! He is just so fantastic! He has a hoarse voice which suits this genre of music and I’d love to tap his talent in my future albums.”

Dad Javed quickly interrupted, “He has really sung and acted well in the film. You should just see the film. He was always in this song business. Very few are aware of the fact that it was Farhan and his sister Zoya who have written the English lyrics for the songs of ‘Bride and Prejudice’... Aishwarya’s film! Anu Malek was the music director of that film.”
