'I am more scared than excited!'
Sid Makkad aka Shankar of Mere Apne will now be seen as Maharani Kunti’s obedient son Arjun in Ekta Kapoor’s Kahaani Hammaray Mahabharat Ki. He will be replacing Harshad Chopra who has been sacked from the show.

“The character is very challenging for me and so I would say that I am more scared than excited," says Sid, “It’s a mythological saga which the entire nation is familiar with hence it becomes pretty difficult because you are stepping into shoes of the character which people already have in mind."
What was that which inspired him to take up a completely different venture and go from a family drama to a mythological saga?
“I think the show is something which the whole country knows and respects which makes it very challenging and I took it up as a challenge... I think I would say this is what inspired me basically," he says.
When asked about is favourite roles in the show, Sid says, “There are two of them - Arjun and Karan. Arjun because of his stature and his nature. I always loved his character because he was a warrior and Karan because of where he comes from and still he displays equal skills and immense talent."
It was a holiday time for Sid after Mere Apne went off air which allowed him to take a long nice break. But now it is busy times ahead for the star as he begins filming for Kahaani Hammaray Mahabharat Ki as well as promoting his forthcoming Bollywood comedy Straight with Vinay Pathak and Gul Panag.
