Default Discuss: Films causing Religious Outrage

They may have been made for entertainment or to convey a message but intentionally, these movies have hurt religious sentiments. Take a look at some movies which have ruffled feathers in recent times.

Billu: The line in Marjaani ''Rab ke hujoor main kasme bhi khaali, duniya ki auni-bonni rasme nibhaali' offended a certain group of people who attacked SRK's house. The problem was that the word huzoor has two meanings. One is the Prophet (Peace Be upon Him) and the other is €˜in presence of€™. The song referred to the second meaning, as Shah Rukh clarified.

Rang De Basanti: The scene with the horses at a carnival in Punjab didn€™t go down too well with the Sikh community because of which it was removed from the film. It apparently hurt religious sentiments, since it was filmed in the middle of a festival celebration. It's still not understood what was so demeaning since all Aamir Khan does in the film is take a ride on a horse during the festivities.

Slumdog Millionaire: A Hindu group in Goa filed a complaint with the police because they felt the film portrayed Lord Ram in particular and the Indian culture in a bad light. There was a little kid painted in blue, posing as a god like figure. Strange why it upset groups!
