As the title suggests, Babban Bhai v/s Bimla Tai is a hilarious comedy that pits two very different kinds of persons against each other, and creates unique and comical situations that will keep the viewers coming back for more chuckles each week.
The show pits an aspiring don, Babban Bhai -- who is the ‘unfit’ heir to the ailing yet much dreaded mafia don of Mumbai, Bade Bhai -- and Bimla Tai Kirloskar, a feisty social activist known for her temper and her outbursts.
One day, Babban Bhai, out to prove his prowess to his skeptical father, does something that makes him cross paths with Bimla Tai. And his life changes for ever through a series of extremely funny and comic situations and escapades over which the poor fellow seems to have no control!
The comic thriller Babban Bhai v/s Bimla Tai marks the TV debut of Bollywood veteran Tanuja in the lead role of Bimla Tai Kirloskar. Speaking on her forthcoming television debut,
Tanuja aka Bimla Tai says, “TV is an exciting medium which goes straight into the homes and is able to communicate directly to the people. It’s exciting to be on a comedy show because I like to do comedy. Especially when there is so much sorrow in the world already, it’s nice to make people laugh.”
The title song for Babban Bhai v/s Bimla Tai is sung by none other than the king of disco music in India,
Bappi Lahri, and the lyrics for this track are penned by his son
Bappa Lahri.

Babbanbhai is a
bindaas struggling don who is trying to live up his father's legacy. He is
silly and clumsy and this ends up making serious crime scenes comic. He is good looking and very serious about his dream to be regarded as an even bigger name in the underworld, than his father. Babban will do anything to prove that he is worthy of the throne that his father occupies. But alas, his mother is over-protective -- to the point of being obsessive!
Babban wears the most expensive sneakers -- his funda: with these shoes you can run
faster! He belives in buying Indian and living Indian and hates people who go abroad for
work. Babban will leave no stone unturned to prove to his father and the underworld that
he too can be as ruthless, shrewd and tough as Bade Bhai.
Babban drives an old Contessa, which has been on its last gasp for months now, but he
refuses to discard it since his father had got the title of Don only after driving the same car.
Kamla Tai Kirloskar aka Bimla Tai

Kamla Tai Kirloskar is a social worker fondly known as Bimla Tai. She is caring and short tempered. She has a grand-daughter who lives in the UK. She is compassionate and also has a great sense of humor. And a huge impact on Babban Bhai’s life!
