I noticed that the characters of
Frasier are more well-spoken than those of say,
Seinfeld or
Friends. The words that they used I was not familiar with. This might have been done before, but I think it is time that a thread was created listing what words you learned and thought were interesting, lame as it sounds. For example:
In "Mixed Doubles", I heard Niles refer to his 'double' as a "ludicrous popinjay". A 'popinjay' is, in this sense, a "a person given to vain, pretentious displays and empty chatter; coxcomb; fop" according to Dictionary.com.
This is just me being overly descriptive, but I was wondering what examples others had.
